Test your strength while hiking to the top of the Svyatoi Nos (“the Saint Nose”) peninsula. Feel the thrill of the mountainous height. Look over the grand Balkal from the bird's eye view. Feel its beauty and natural power. Take this breath-taking wonderful experience. The ascension usually takes 4-6 hours. Beautiful landscapes and marvelous views of Baikal would be the perfect reward for the sweat of the hiking. You will see immeasurable beauty of Baikal, the flood plain of the river Barguzin, a huge lake of Arangatui, located on the snowneck of the Barguzin and Chivyrkyi bays as well as peaks of the noble Barguzin Ridge, the Ushnanyi Islands, and, if clear weather, the outlines of Olkhon island.

The Challenge Trail

Departure from the village of Maksimikha is scheduled at 9:00 am, from the village of Goryachinsk at 7:30 am, from the village of Ust-Barguzin – 9:45 am (automobile transport). After crossing the bridge over the Barguzin, we get to the Check Point of Baikal National Park. There you will be presented with the route of our excursion. You can also purchase different Baikal-related souvenirs. After necessary paper work is filled, we follow to the final destination of our automobile route. Several stops at interesting places are planned during the drive.

The Challenge Trail

Next, we arrive at the area of Glinka. At the root of the mountain the guide instructs you on the safety issues, and the ascension starts. It usually takes from 4 to 6 hours to get to the plateau/upland. Upon reaching the top, you will see an amazing view of Baikal lake. There you can also taste crystal clear high-mountain water.

The Challenge Trail

The descent is no less difficult and usually takes from 2 to 4 hours. After the descent you will find yourself right next to Baikal where you can swim. Then we will take you back to the starting point of the route. The Return is planned at 8 to 10 pm
